Passionate About Improving Your Tennis Skills

Hello and welcome to my site! It’s great to have you here. So who am I? My name is Laurence but you can call me Larry. I’m from Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

 

After working as a Marine Scientist for 10 years, I decided to follow my passion in tennis and make it my full time job. I haven’t looked back and I’ve been coaching now for nearly 10 years! Time flies when you’re having fun. I have taught thousands of people over the years and have been Head Coach in my local club for 5 years, developing a full junior (ROG) and adult coaching programme, quadrupling the club membership during my time there.

I absolutely love tennis and as I’ve grown into my role as a coach the thing I enjoy the most is getting to know people, working with them to help them improve their tennis and their confidence on court. Everyone is different and everyone learns in a different way. I enjoy being able to find a way to connect and help individuals learn in the way that suits them best.

I am passionate about helping tennis players of all levels reach their full potential. As an experienced coach, I have helped players from complete beginners to competitive tournament and league players, improving their skills and achieving their goals. For reference, I'm roughly a playing level 5.5 on the USTA NTRP/ UTR 12.5 - though I haven't been rated in that system.

In March 2024 I qualified as a Pickleball coach! PPR-UK
